Kaupō

Each By The Shore collection is named after the original inoa kahakai

(shoreline) across Ko Hawai'i pae 'āina.  After Western settlers arrived in Hawai'i, many places were renamed or nicknamed over time.  It is our aspiration to bring awareness to and perpetuate the native place names of Hawai'i . "I ka 'ōlelo nō ke ola, i ka 'ōlelo nō ka make."

Kaupō, now commonly known as "Baby Makapu'u", was once a fishing village Northwest of Makapu'u Point on the east side of O'ahu.
